Books Briefly Noted: The Girls

Lori Lansen’s The Girls encompasses the essence of sisters who are conjoined by the head and are forever destined to stand out in the crowd. They have never been apart, nor have they ever looked each other in the eyes. Their tales capture the undeniable bond amid twins and the inevitable distance between even the closest of relationships. The novel is told from the two surprisingly different viewpoints of Rose and Ruby. Rose, the ever practical one, decides to write the novel and Ruby, the prettier one, tells us what spurred Rose to begin writing. It entails you on their journey of self-discovery and the path to loving thyself, despite their monstrous façade A few pages into the book you forget that these are fictitious characters and with every chapter the twists and turns of their life stories join you for the ride until the end.

  1. Interesting book. Interesting write up. A few odd phrases: cojoined "at" the head? It entails..

Entail means to include; to hold.
